BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man killed at a Brooklyn subway station was repeatedly punched and kicked on the ground during the “vicious” attack, sources told PIX11 News.

The unidentified man was found unresponsive at the Jay Street-MetroTech station around 3:07 p.m. Tuesday, police said. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead.

Sources told PIX11 News the attack started with a short interaction between the man and his attacker, who then punched him in the face, sending him to the ground. The man was then repeatedly punched and kicked on the ground and slashed, sources said.

Police say the suspected killer boarded a Bronx-bound 2 train after the attack. On Tuesday, police shared photos of who they believe is the killer.
