Sixty-two years have passed since a Kaufmann family member lived at Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright’s organic architectural masterpiece.
The weekend retreat for Edgar J. Kaufmann and his wife, Liliane, has been a museum longer than it had been a home.
Wright’s work continues to bring visitors to Fayette and Westmoreland counties — Kentuck Knob is six miles from Fallingwater, and Polymath Park is 23 miles north.
During the past several years, all three sites have been navigating post-pandemic changes, with more tour offerings and fewer tourists coming from abroad.
