EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Police say they tracked down a drone pilot who was flying in restricted airspace during the Fall Festival, and discovered he had two active warrants for his arrest.

On Tuesday, officers were notified about a rogue drone flying in the restricted airspace during the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival.

Police say they were able to find the pilot in the parking lot of the Dollar General store on Mount Vernon Avenue.

EPD says the drone pilot was 44-year-old Jack Givens II. Police say they discovered Givens had two warrants out for his arrest.

Givens was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail for his warrants.

Due to the Fall Festival, temporary flight restrictions are in place . Violators could face a hefty fine, and in extreme cases, criminal penalties
