Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is poised to enhance regional and global connectivity, marking a significant milestone for Mumbai as Asia’s connectivity hub.

The new airport, shaped like a lotus flower, aims to alleviate congestion at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and boost India’s aviation capacity. It will particularly benefit Maharashtra’s farmers by providing access to markets in Europe and the Middle East.

PM Modi highlighted the role of the UDAN Yojana in making air travel more accessible, noting that the number of airports in India has increased from 74 to over 160 since 2014. He also inaugurated Mumbai Metro Line 3, further enhancing the city’s infrastructure and easing commuter travel.
