FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Two First Alert Weather Days have been issued for Thursday and Friday mornings due to the first frost/freeze chance of the season. Thursday morning low temperatures are expected around the mid to upper 30s, so patchy frost will be the most likely outcome for tomorrow, whereas Friday low temperatures could fall into the low to mid 30s. If crops don’t die due to the chance for frost tomorrow, the growing season will officially end on Friday.
For kids heading out to school the next two mornings, a coat definitely is recommended for the chilly mornings ahead, with afternoon highs in the mid 60s to close the week. We are expecting to heat up into the 70s for the weekend and next week.
