Former Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will serve a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, he announced.
Beckham, who is currently a free agent, announced his suspension on an episode of “ The Pivot Podcast ," which published Tuesday. His suspension stems from his time last season with the Miami Dolphins, where he played nine games before being released in December.
Beckham, 32, said his failed drug test was unintentional and related to him seeking treatment for low testosterone levels. His suspension will take effect immediately and he will be ineligible to play until at least Week 12 this season.
