MAHOMET, Ill. (WAND) — The Sangamon Valley Public Water District issued a boil order for an area in Mahomet Wednesday.

The affected area includes South Lake of the Woods Road — including the Sportsman's Club Campground, Karadan Drive, Ranch Lane, Sugar Lane and Summit Ridge Road.

The company said residents in the area should boil their water for at least 5 minutes before consuming or using it for cooking. This includes making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes.

The district said the order will be lifted once they confirm that the water quality meets all safety standards.
