RAVENNA, Ohio (WJW) – A driver is facing a citation after hitting a school crossing guard in a crosswalk.
According to a press release, it happened Wednesday morning around 8:45 a.m. in Ravenna outside West Main Elementary School.
According to police, the crossing guard was in the crosswalk on Main Street at the intersection of Diamond Street.
A car headed eastbound on Main didn’t stop at a red light, according to police, and hit the crossing guard with their vehicle.
No students were in the crosswalk at the time.
The crossing guard was taken to the hospital. There is no word on her condition.
Police said the driver was cited for failure to obey traffic control devices.
