Three people were sent to hospital, two in critical condition, after a head-on crash between a van and a car near the railway tracks just west of the Centre on Barton.
Hamilton police were called to the collision on Barton Street East near Belmont Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said in a press release.
At the scene, they found a Honda Odyssey van had collided with a Kia Forte. Three men, ages 25, 26 and 30, were transported to hospital.
As of Wednesday afternoon, two were in critical and one was in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the van suffered minor injuries.
The investigation by the collision reconstruction unit is ongoing. Detectives have not ruled out any factors.
All roads in the area reopened just before 4 a.m., police reported on X.
