Anthony “Essy” Curatolo, born in Rosebank in 1940, was a three-sport athlete at New Dorp High School. After playing minor league baseball, he married Mary Ann Cloke and had eight children in 10 years. He worked as a letter carrier for the USPS and coached basketball and softball at various schools, including winning the New York State Federation Championship in 1993 with St. Joseph Hill Academy. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Chick, wife Mary Ann, and son Robert, and is survived by seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Read the full obituary on SILive .
