NORWALK, Conn. — The Norwalk Police Department is enforcing a new ordinance to stop local vape shops from selling marijuana products.

Norwalk police announced the ordinance Wednesday.

The action stems from ongoing issues with city vape shops selling marijuana, THC edibles, nitrous oxide and other illegal items to customers. Residents have complained that the illegal sales are being made to underage individuals.

It is against the law for a business in Connecticut to sell marijuana to anyone, unless it is licensed to do so. The vape shops that have committed infractions in Norwalk are not licensed to make these sales.

The new ordinance lists the steps to obtain a license to operate a vape shop within the city’s limits.
