SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. — Across the state , people can buy breakfast sandwiches that give back to those facing food insecurity.

It's something new Connecticut Foodshare is doing in partnership with the Between Rounds Bakery Sandwich Café.

In September, the café launched a breakfast sandwich that gives back. It's called the B.E.C.C.A.

"Bacon, egg, cheese, Hellman's chipotle mayo and avocado," Between Rounds President Jerry Puiia said.

Patrons can enjoy it on a bagel, roll or croissant. Puiia and his team are proud to serve the B.E.C.C.A. because it serves a bigger mission.

"Fifty cents from each one of those B.E.C.C.A. sandwiches goes to Connecticut Foodshare, and we're hoping that we can make a very sizeable donation," Puiia said.
