SPARTANBURG, S.C. —
A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit over Spartanburg's downtown clock tower.
On Wednesday afternoon, the city announced a settlement was reached with the group "Support the Spartanburg Clock Tower."
According to the settlement, the clock tower will be moved from its current location in downtown and all of its historical elements will be saved. The historical elements have been listed as several bricks, the clock, the bell, mechanics of the clock and bell, the plaque, and the peak.
The new location of the clock tower will be selected by city council after a study involving available and feasible locations. The public will have input on the new location, according to the settlement.
