Donald Trump has flagged he will travel to the Middle East this weekend to finalise a Gaza deal as negotiations continue in Egypt to halt the fighting between Hamas and Israel.

The US President said there was a "good chance" he would travel to the Middle East, possibly this weekend.

“It’s something I think that will happen. Got a good chance of happening," President Trump said on Wednesday, local time.

"I may go there sometime toward the end of the week. Maybe on Sunday actually ... we’ll see.

"But there’s a very good chance, negotiations are going along very well. Our final negotiation, as you know, is with Hamas, and it seems to be going well.

“So, we’ll let you know. If that’s the case, we’ll be leaving probably on Sunday. Maybe Saturday. Maybe a little later than Saturday evening
