DETROIT. (WILX) - The Detroit Tigers’ bats finally came to life in the postseason on Wednesday evening at Comerica Park, blasting three home runs on their way to a 9-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners to stay alive and force a winner-take-all Game 5 in Seattle on Friday.

Casey Mize (14-6, 3.87 ERA) got the start for Detroit, while Bryce Miller (4-6, 5.68 ERA) took the mound for Seattle.

Detroit hoped to force a winner-take-all Game 5 in Seattle, while the Mariners looked to advance to the ALCS.

Seattle’s Josh Naylor had the game’s first hit with a one-out double in the second inning. Two batters later, Dominic Canzone hit a two-out single to right field to score Naylor and put Seattle up 1-0.
