RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The stage is set at Norfolk State University for the only debate between the two candidates running for Virginia Governor.

Thursday night democrat Abigail Spanberger and republican Winsome Earle-Sears will spar over who is best to lead the commonwealth.

“The other part of the debate will be Abigail Spanberger’s attempt to put Winsome Earle-Sears on the defensive regarding all of the job losses and the constant inflation and price increases,” said Larry Sabato, UVa Center for Politics Executive Director.

Another likely topic during that debate will be the controversy surrounding those violent text messages sent by the democrat running for attorney general Jay Jones.
