NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Nashville Mayor Freddie O'Connell is pointing to new progress in the city's fight against crime.
O'Connell said fewer families are being impacted by violent crime compared to recent years, and more resources are being put into prevention efforts.
Nashville is a dynamic place people want to live, work, and play, but with that comes public safety concerns.
"Safety is the top priority of government. It's something we're leaning into," O'Connell said.
Increasing safety day by day is the mayor's goal.
"It's important for Nashvillians to understand what the data actually says," O'Connell told News 2.
