DUBLIN, Ga. — More than a week into the federal government shutdown, Central Georgia veterans are experiencing uneven effects on services at the Dublin Veterans Affairs Medical Center, with some critical programs continuing while others remain shuttered.

Wayne Gooden, a veteran receiving treatment for PTSD and bipolar disorder, said his medical care has remained largely unaffected by the shutdown, though he encountered minor administrative hurdles.

"It really hasn't affected any of my fellow veterans," Gooden said. "It only affected me as far as getting my printout for my verification, but I still got to print out anyway."
