MACON, Ga. — A series of car break-ins at a senior living facility in Macon has residents worried about their safety and pushing for stronger security measures.

People who live at Tindall Senior Towers say the crimes have happened repeatedly over the past year. For some, vehicles were targeted more than once.

James Rhodes, who has lived at Tindall Senior Towers for nearly seven years, said thieves recently took the catalytic converter from his truck.

“They went up under my truck. It was two of them, and got my catalytic converter from my truck,” Rhodes said. “It cost me over $800 to get it replaced. We report it all the time but there’s nothing done about it.”

Rhodes said while the property is gated, security is limited because people can easily get in through damage to the fence.
