MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin congressmen are not backing down on their parties' stances when it comes to a proposed health insurance bill that's at the center of the federal government shutdown.

Lawmakers in the U.S. Senate have voted on and failed to pass two funding proposals. One is a Republican-led bill that would fund the government for seven weeks. The other is a Democratic bill that would fund the government and includes an extension of tax credits that lower premiums through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance.

Tax credit subsidies from the ACA are set to expire by the end of the year.
