MADISON (WKOW) -- A rally organized by Hands Off Chicago-Wisconsin was held Wednesday on the Capitol Square to protest President Donald Trump's deployment of National Guard troops to Chicago. Protesters called the deployment unwarranted and an illegal invasion.

Karen Urrutia Polnitz, an organizer with Voces de la Frontera, spoke at the rally.

"The storming of apartment buildings, separating children from their families in the middle of the night and treating them like criminals, is really horrific, and I think it's growing fear in our community," Urrutia Polnitz said.

She added that the group is committed to providing resources to the community.
