NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Neighbors in North Nashville are reeling after an elderly woman was found murdered inside her home.
An autopsy revealed that 74-year-old Harriet Edwards was beaten and strangled to death, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police said Edwards lived by herself at her home on Chateau Valley Court. Dennis Lawson is her neighbor.
“I would see her go in and out, so every now and then, I would see a couple people go in and out of the house. But other than that, I may wave, things of that nature,” Lawson explained.
According to police, Edwards was found by her friend on Monday after she had not been seen in days.
