(WOWK) - A local philanthropic fund co-founded by a country music star has made a big donation to some area organizations to celebrate its five-year anniversary.

The Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund was first established in 2020 by Tyler Childers and his wife, Senora May, as a way to bring awareness to organizations in Appalachia and support their philanthropic efforts.

Now, to celebrate five years of giving back, the Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund is providing $500,000 in grant funding to organizations across the region that "do incredible work" that they "believe in whole-heartedly."
