Sandipan Garg, cousin of renowned singer Zubeen Garg, has been arrested in connection with the singer’s death and suspended from his post as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Assam. He was serving in the Kamrup district before his arrest on Wednesday.

Sandipan has been sent to seven-day police custody and is the fifth person to be taken into custody in the case.

Reports indicate that he was accompanying Zubeen Garg at the time of the singer’s death in Singapore.

Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima, said Sandipan had expressed a desire to travel to Singapore, a country he had never visited before. She added that Zubeen immediately agreed to take him along.

According to Garima, Sandipan had recently joined the police force, but before this, he had been involved in modelling and acting.
