On Thursday at 1:14 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a freeze warning valid from 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Onondaga, Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Madison, Oneida, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware and Sullivan counties.

The weather service adds to be ready for, "Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s to low 30s tonight into early Friday morning."

"Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered," states the weather service. "Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold."
