Mumbai, Oct 09: Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is poised to significantly enhance regional and global connectivity, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who inaugurated its first phase on October 8.

He emphasized that NMIA will ease congestion at the existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and position Mumbai as a major global hub.

The project, inspired by the lotus flower and built on historic land, is part of a broader governmental effort to increase India’s aviation capacity and ensure affordable air travel, exemplified by the UDAN Yojana.
