New Delhi, Oct 09: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has advocated for India’s permanent membership in the UN Security Council (UNSC), citing India’s growth and significance in global governance during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He emphasized the support India has received from several nations, including the US, Germany, and France, reinforcing a collective ambition for a more representative UN.
Starmer also highlighted the strong trade relationship between the UK and India, mentioning the largest UK trade delegation in a decade and the announcement of a Bollywood film initiative. Additionally, he expressed support for a peace deal in Gaza.
