New Delhi, Oct 09: Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri reported a productive meeting with BP CEO Murray Auchincloss during the latter’s visit to India alongside UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

This meeting is part of broader discussions following a new free trade agreement between the UK and India. Puri noted BP’s significant role in India’s energy sector, including partnerships in natural gas and biogas, which align with the country’s energy security initiatives.

He highlighted India’s ambitions in green hydrogen production, aiming for 5 million metric tonnes by 2030, and the anticipated reduction in green hydrogen prices, emphasizing India’s potential for self-reliance in energy generation.
