GIG HARBOR, Wash. — Credit card scams appear to be on the rise across the country, and a small business owner in Pierce County has become one of the latest victims.

Jake Lincoln, owner of All Star Guitar in Gig Harbor, is asking for the public’s help in locating two high-end guitars after a fraudulent transaction left him without payment, and without protection from insurance.

"It was shocking, and really kind of frustrating and defeating at first," said Lincoln.

All Star Guitar is both a music shop and a teaching studio.

“Our primary thing here is lessons,” said Lincoln. “We also sell music instruments.”

Among the instruments are both new and vintage items. Recently, two local families consigned him a 1976 Fender fretless bass and a 2012 Gibson Classic Custom Les Paul, which are each
