Fixing the facility could cost nearly $76 million and take years to complete
Lately, residents of Narragansett have been getting more than a whiff of ocean breeze.
Complaints about the smell of sulfur, open sewage and even “something dead” have been circulating online and at Narragansett Town Council meetings.
“Never ever, in over 50 years in this same location, do I remember smelling this foul smell for more than a day here and there. It's disgusting,” wrote one person in a Facebook community group from Narragansett on Sept. 11.
