LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - An investigation is underway after a juvenile was shot outside a Lakota elementary school overnight, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and Liberty Township fire crews responded to a report of a 16-year-old shot in the leg at Woodland Elementary School on Dutchland Parkway, shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A juvenile was shot in the leg on school grounds and taken to West Chester Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Sgt. Chris Morris tells FOX19 NOW.
Sgt. Morris declined to release the juvenile’s age and sex amid the ongoing investigation.
Deputies were seen searching the area for hours overnight.
A sheriff’s cruiser remains on scene at the school right now, hours ahead of classes starting.
