A 911 call reporting a teenager bleeding in a school parking lot prompted a major police response in Liberty Township on Wednesday night.
Investigators with the Butler County Sheriff's Office are now saying the shooting was likely accidental, and it involved a stolen gun. Advertisement
Around 9 p.m., a teen called 911, claiming his 16-year-old friend had been shot by a masked gunman behind Woodland Elementary School. However, investigators have since determined that the incident did not unfold as initially reported.
"911, what's the address of your emergency?" the dispatcher asked. "My buddy just got shot. My friend just got shot," the caller replied.
"Y'all got to hurry up. Y'all got to hurry up," the caller urged.
