CLEVELAND, Ohio – Let the celebration of suds begin: The 17th Cleveland Beer Week is here.

Except the week is not actually a week. It’s six events starting today – Thursday, Oct. 9 – and running into November.

Cleveland Beer Week was founded in 2009 at a time when craft beer was past its infancy state but not exactly a full-grown teenager. Flagship events were held, with hundreds of tertiary tastings, dinners, seminars and outings staged at restaurants, bars and breweries throughout Northeast Ohio.

Over the years it has dialed into a much more focused set of events, and the plethora of festivities just isn’t there. In a way, the week has become an example of how big craft beer grew in the region. In its early years, a dive bar holding tap takeovers or having a couple of craft India Pale
