LANSING, MI - The Michigan Supreme Court heard arguments Wednesday in a case challenging a state policy that denies workers’ compensation to undocumented immigrants who get injured on the job.

The Michigan Immigrant Rights Center, MIRC, sued Gov. Gretchen Whitmer four years ago, claiming the policy is unlawful and unconstitutional. Michigan is one of few states that denies wage loss benefits solely because of immigration status.
