DETROIT - Hudson’s Detroit - the near-billion dollar redevelopment of a former department store site at the center of Detroit that’s been the most anticipated project in the city since it broke ground in 2017 – has hit a new milestone.

Buildout of the 12-story office building at 1240 Woodward Ave. that makes up the northwest half of the site is complete. The majority of the office spaces in the building’s eight office floors have been leased, and the top four will become home to General Motors’ new world headquarters. A massive six-story atrium lies at the center of the building, spilling light onto office balconies that ring the building at each level.
