EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University is gearing up to celebrate homecoming with its parade this weekend.

The parade and the football game give MSU alumni a chance to see their old school once again.

Anyone who plans on coming to campus should be aware of the large number of people who will be in East Lansing for the weekend and the parade.

The parade, happening on Friday, Oct. 10, normally brings in more than 10,000 attendees to downtown East Lansing.

It starts on Abbot Rd and ends on Farm Ln, but is mainly on Grand River Ave.

Those streets will be shut down starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and will reopen at 7:15.

One announcer for the parade, Russ White, says people watching the parade each year can feel the energy.
