ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Fulton County Superior Court judge overseeing the now-stalled indictment of President Donald Trump has given prosecutors until Nov. 14 to appoint a new prosecutor for the case.

Judge Scott McAfee’s order was in response to a request from the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia to have more time in securing someone to take over Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ historic August 2021 indictment of the then-former president.

McAfee initially ruled the agency, headed by Pete Skandalakis, had 14 days to appoint a new prosecutor, or else he would dismiss the case.
