A man has been arrested following several alleged high-value retail crime incidents at stores through the UK, totalling over £500,000.

Between December 2024 and July 2025, seven reports of theft, robbery, and fraud were reported in stores across Scotland, with further offences in England.

The alleged offences in Scotland took place within Glasgow , the North East, Ayrshire, Edinburgh, and Forth Valley, and totalled losses of £18,000.

All of the alleged offences throughout the UK totalled around £600,000.

The man, 32, was arrested in London on Friday, October 3, as part of a joint investigation by Police Scotland’s Retail Crime Taskforce, The Metropolitan Police and Operation Opal.

He is being recalled to prison in the London area for breaches of his license and will be reported to
