At least five people were killed after a powerful explosion brought down a house in Pagla Bhari village under Pura Kalandar police station limits in rural Ayodhya on Thursday.

According to initial reports, the explosion occurred around dawn, flattening the structure and leaving several others injured. Rescue teams rushed to the scene, fearing that more people could be trapped under the debris.

BLAST POSSIBLY TRIGGERED BY GAS CYLINDER

Ayodhya Circle Officer Devesh Chaturvedi said that the explosion appears to have been caused by a domestic gas cylinder blast. “So far, five deaths have been confirmed. Rescue operations are still underway,” he said.
