CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian hit-and-run incident that left one person hospitalized Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the area of Dills Bluff Road and Darwin Street in reference to a reported hit-and-run involving a pedestrian at 12:18 a.m. Upon arrival, they saw EMS and Fire providing medical treatment to the victim.

The victim said he was riding his bicycle south on Dills Bluff Road when two vehicles came from behind in a manner of “racing.” This first vehicle struck the victim with its passenger side mirror, which caused the victim to fall off his bicycle and into the road, resulting in the second vehicle running over his leg.
