A three-month-old baby has tragically died in hospital after being found with serious injuries.

The youngster was rushed to hospital in a critical state after emergency services were called to a property in Eston, North Yorkshire, on Sunday, October 5. The boy was fighting for his life in Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary but Cleveland Police have now confirmed the sad news the baby has passed away.

Bradley Thomas, aged 22, was brought before the court on Tuesday, October 7, charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

Thomas, of Grasmere Road, Redcar, did not enter a plea to the charge during a short hearing at Teesside Magistrates' Court. He was remanded in custody and will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday, November 5.
