Train and car involved in incident in Andover; officials say to stay away

Officials in Andover are warning the public about an incident on Thursday involving a vehicle and a train at the railroad tracks on Essex Street.

The Andover Fire Department warned the public to avoid the area on a social media post at 11:40 a.m.

The vehicle and train were involved in a collision, police told NBC Boston , and said a person inside the vehicle was flown to a hospital. Their condition wasn’t immediately available.

Officials did not say what happened leading up to the incident.

The Andover Police Department could not be immediately reached for comment.
