ATLANTA, Georgia — Derrick Groves, the final fugitive from a May jailbreak at the Orleans Parish Justice Center, was arrested Wednesday in Atlanta, concluding a five-month nationwide manhunt, the Associated Press reported .
According to ABC News , Groves, 28, was found hiding in a crawl space beneath a home in southwest Atlanta. His capture followed a brief standoff involving a coordinated effort by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
The escape, which happened on May 16, involved Groves and nine other inmates breaking out of the Orleans Parish Justice Center. They exploited a broken cell door and escaped through a hole behind a toilet, The Guardian reported .
