The secret to great fly fishing? According to Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and Blue Ribbon Flies owner and founder Craig Mathews, it all comes down to simplicity.

Speaking at Montana State University on Wednesday night, the duo, who together bring nearly 150-plus years of fly-fishing experience, discussed their latest co-authored book, with Mauro Mazzo, who was not in attendance, “Pheasant Tail Simplicity: Recipes and Techniques for Successful Fly Fishing”.

In it, they share decades of hard-earned wisdom, showing how anglers can catch fish anywhere, anytime, with just one type of fly.
