The Pittsburgh Steelers are replacing the majority of Acrisure Stadium’s aging seats by 2028.
The Sports and Exhibition Authority, which controls Acrisure Stadium’s lease, on Thursday greenlit just under $6.2 million in capital reserve funds to Steelers affiliate PSSI Stadium LLC for the first phase of the seat-replacement project, during which 22,236 new seats will be installed in the North Shore stadium over the next two years.
The Steelers intend to replace 58,719 of Acrisure Stadium’s 68,400 seats by 2028, for a total cost of $17.8 million. Nearly all of the seats are original to the stadium, according to SEA Project Executive Doug Straley.
