CITYWIDE — Chicago sits on land once home to many Native peoples, including members of the the Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi nations.

Below are some ways to honor the city’s deep Indigenous roots with cultural celebrations and educational opportunities for Indigenous Peoples Day, which is Monday.

Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at Dvorak Park

Noon-4 p.m. Saturday

Dvorak Park, 1119 W. Cullerton St.

Commemorate the day with this free celebration hosted by the Tierra Colombiana Dance Ensemble, with dance, musical and storytelling performances by groups across Chicago.
