UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV) -- A chilly night is on the way as clear skies and calm winds allow temperatures to tumble sharply across eastern and central New York! Most areas will drop into the mid-20s to low 30s, with some colder spots sinking into the lower 20s. Because of this, the National Weather Service has issued Freeze Warnings from 11 PM tonight through 9 AM Friday. Widespread frost and freezing temperatures are expected, which could harm crops, tender plants, and unprotected outdoor plumbing. If you have any sensitive vegetation, be sure to cover it or bring it indoors. It’s also a good idea to drain garden hoses, wrap outdoor pipes, or let them drip slightly overnight to prevent freezing.
After the frosty start, Friday is expected to be a pleasant and more comfortable day. Sunshine
