SALISBURY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Fire fighters in Herkimer County responded to a structure fire on Dutchtown Road late Wednesday morning. First responders to the scene reported that the home was fully engulfed in flames. It was reported on social media that the caller who reported the fire stated that it started with the explosion of a solar panel.

Salisbury, Dolgeville and Hilltop fire fighters responded to the call. MOVAC ambulance was also called to the scene.

One official reported from the fire that the cause was an exploded lithium ion battery. No injuries have been reported. The blaze had not yet been brought under control 40 minutes after fire companies arrived on the scene.
