GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Dégagé Ministries is cooking up another farm-to-table event prepared by local chefs as part of its fifth annual “Breaking Bread” fundraiser.

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 9 at the Fulton Farmers Market. Guests can expect a five-course dinner prepared by local chefs, with the purpose of gathering to enjoy a meal and discuss food security in the community.

“People facing homelessness and poverty often find themselves living in food deserts, which means that they lack access to nutritious food, especially fresh produce,” said Thelma Ensink, executive director at Dégagé Ministries. “This farm-to-table meal reminds us during this time of bountiful harvest that some people are experiencing food insecurity, and allows us to share our blessings with others.”
