Finalised plans to build a row of shops at the site of a demolished church in Paisley have been submitted to Renfrewshire Council for consideration. ‌

Planning permission in principle was granted, subject to conditions, for the commercial development at the grounds of the former Martyrs' Sandyford Church in Montgomery Road in November 2024. ‌

And now the applicant, Montgomery Marshall Developments, has returned with what is called an application for approval of matters specified in conditions – a submission that includes further detail on the proposal. ‌

If the project is given the green light by the local authority, it is understood the potential use of each unit would ultimately be driven by market conditions.

The developer had cited interest from two companies
